Adult Novice Summer Cohort

ADULT NOVICE TEAM 2023 RECRUITMENT INFO

The Marin Rowing Association Adult (master) Novice Team will be accepting new members during the Summer and Autumn of 2023

This is a team for athletes with little to no experience in the rowing world.  During these recruitment windows, the team will be switching partly to land-based training to accommodate curious newcomers with no experience as oarsmen or oarswomen.

The team includes athletes just getting started through their second year. It might seem intimidating to join a team with this experience, but most are thrilled to help train their future teammates.

Standard practice days are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.  Weekday times are 5:30-7:30 AM.  Sundays are 6:45-9:15 AM.  In addition to participating in the land sessions below, new athletes must observe at least one water practice before joining.

The team runs year-round, expecting everyone to miss some time for the usual reasons (work, vacation, illness). Adult Team Membership is paid quarterly and costs $505.  There is a one-time initiation fee of $300.  Extra expenses beyond that relate to travel and racing.

Dates:

These dates reflect what will happen to the best ability of the coach.  If you’d like the complete and most up-to-date schedule, including the water practices, you can request an invite to TeamSnap. TeamSnap is a roster that hosts our schedule and team roster.
