Nathanael Kielt enters his first season as Marin Junior Men’s Head Coach in 2018-2019

Prior to Marin Rowing, Coach Kielt spent his past three seasons as Assistant Coach at Hobart College. During his time at Hobart, he coached crews to top 20 finishes  at the IRA National Championship, along with helping to secure the Overall Team Title (2018) and a sweep of the 1v, 2v, and 3v events (2017) at the National Invitational Rowing Championships.

In addition to his time at Hobart, Kielt was the Head Coach of the Under 23 Elite Program for the Princeton National Rowing Association from 2014-2018. Kielt has spent the past three summers as coach of the U.S. Under 23 Lightweight National Team. His crews brought home a silver (2017) medal in the Men’s Lightweight 4+, along with a sixth-place finish (2016) and a ninth-place finish (2017) in the Men’s Lightweight 2-. This past summer, Kielt coached the Men’s Lightweight 4x that secured a bronze medal at the 2018 Under 23 World Championships.

Before Hobart, he spent three seasons as Assistant Coach at Rutgers University, his alma mater. Kielt competed at the Under 23 World Championships in 2008. He grew up and learned to row in Buffalo, NY at the West Side Rowing Club

Kielt currently resides in San Rafael.
