NOVICE BOYS HEAD COACH
Tim Humphrey enters his seventh season as Marin Novice Men’s Head Coach in 2018-19.
Coach Humphrey’s novice crews have medaled multiple times at the USRowing Southwest Championships over the past six years, including in 2013, when his boats won all five of the novice sweep events for the first time in the region’s history. He has had athletes go on to win multiple collegiate national titles as well as represent the United States at Junior, U23, and Senior World Championships.
Coach Tim Humphrey started rowing his freshmen year of high school, in Long Beach, CA, and continued rowing through college with Orange Coast College and then Indiana University. After graduating with a BFA in Sculpture, he went on to coach the IU club team. He also coached for Huron High School, Long Beach Junior Crew, and Newport Aquatic Center. Tim studied MFA Sculpture at Long Beach State before making the move to Marin, where he began coaching the novice boys in 2012.
Humphrey currently resides in Novato with his wife Allie and three kids, Violet, Hazel and Wyatt.
