Youth Summer Rowing Camps

Registration for our 2018 Summer Camps is now open!

High School Learn to Row

This week-long camp is an introduction to the sport of rowing. Attendees must be 13 years old or older, and do not need to know anything about rowing to participate. We will begin on land with the basic movements, safety information, and how to handle the equipment. The rest of the week will be spent on the water learning how to row.  To register, please follow the link to regatta central.

High School Continuing Skills (ages 13-17)

Campers must have completed an “Introduction to Rowing” camp before the beginning of this camp.  We will be on the water for the entire camp, working on technique and power application in the boats. The goal of this camp is to demonstrate what we do on the competitive rowing team and give those that desire to, the chance to row more during the summer. We will teach technique that will build on the basics, emphasize team work, and introduce more fitness and training aspects to what has already been learned.=

Middle School Learn to Row (ages 11-13)

The first day of camp will be slow. We will watch a safety video, teach the principles of rowing on land and go over how to handle the equipment. We will not be able to leave the dock until we know enough to be able to safely return. Once we are able to take strokes, we will spend our time in the boats practicing the rowing stroke and begin learning the details of how to move a boat effectively. This camp is co-ed.
