http://www.row2k.com/news/news.cfm?ID=40468 Congratulations to the Adv. Men and Women Sweep teams and our Scullers for their outstanding success at Masters Nationals. Our rowers brought home a ton of trophies (check out the trophy case!) in addition to the women's overall points trophy AND the CLUB overall points trophy! Well done to all. On Saturday, September 6th the '08-'09 Junior Season will be upon us and I am proud to introduce to you our new staff members! Our own Graham Willoughby will be heading up the Varsity Boys. Graham has been our Facility Manager and Novice Boy's Coach for 3 years and this year Graham will continue as Facility Manager and move up to coach the Varsity squad. Sandy Armstrong will continue as Varsity Girl's Coach. I have added two new staffers to coach the Novice Boys and Girls. Patrick Schulkers will coach the boys. Patrick rowed at Ohio State and has a long coaching history under his belt. He comes to us from Texas and will be needing some help with housing until he gets settled, so if you can help please let me know! Melissa Fenner will coach the girls. Melissa is a Yale grad who rowed at Capitol Crew in Sacramento prior to rowing at Yale. She has been coaching the novice girls at Capitol for the past 3 years. Both coaches are mid-move to Marin but I will make sure to bring them down on a Saturday morning to meet the family and be welcomed. Weekly Schedule:

Marin Rowing Coxswain Chelsea Lucas and the Jr. Women's National Team won a gold medal in the 8+ at the Jr. World Championships in Linz, Austria yesterday. It is the first time the women have won Gold in this event.
www.row2k.com/worlds/features.cfm?ID=1809 Chelsea is an outstanding coxswain and her team and I are proud of her incredible accomplishment. She showed true talent when she first began coxing and she has built on that talent to become the best in the World. UPDATE:

Far too quickly, we must send the final email. George passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon around 5:30 while Kathleen was holding his hand. We will be having a "gathering" here at our home later in the summer so that we can remember him as he would like to be remembered - full of the love of life. I will let you know when this will take place as soon as I can. To all of you who have written, our heartfelt thanks. Your emails were wonderful and elicited many healing tears. With our love, Margot, Kathleen and Silvia ![]() Lou Lindsey, 87, the Marin Rowing Varsity Boys coach from 1984-1991, passed away today in San Rafael. Lou was the coach of the great crews of the 1980's that won 2 Stotesbury Cups and sent so many kids on to the Junior National Team. Lou also coached the Stanford and Navy Varsity crews, with his 1960 Navy 8 representing the USA at the Rome Olympics. The Lindsey family will hold a memorial service in the late summer at the Marin Rowing Association boathouse. More information will be posted at a later time.
