MRA Singles Ladder - March 16

It's time for the second attempt at the third installment of the Marin Rowing singles ladder, a 2500m member's only race conducted entirely in singles! The last scheduled race had to be canceled due to bad weather. So, come down on Sunday morning, March 16th and give the ladder a shot!

When: Sunday, Mar. 16, 2008
Mandatory Race Meeting: 8:45am
First flight start time: 9:15am (high tide at 7:12am)
Second flight: approx. 9:45am
More flights: if needed.

The race will begin just off of the MRA main dock and proceed up the straightaway until you come to a buoy. You will then have to turn around the buoy as fast and safely as possible, then return back to the starting line for the finish. The course is bi-directional to cancel tidal and weather differences. Click on the image below for a map of the course:

The race will be run one person at a time, 15 seconds apart until the first flight has all been started. When those boats come back, they will dock and people rowing the next flight will switch into their desired club boats and line up for the next race. Details will be given at the race meeting at 8:30am. You can row the race in any shell you'd like, from an Aero to a private racing shell. We will record your time and it will determine your position on the final ladder, which will be posted at the rear of the boat house and on the website.

The ladder will be run once every two months, so you can compete both against yourself and other rowers in the coming ladders. Times and rank will only be divided between men and women, no handicaps will be applied.

So, whether you're an expert sculler, or just want to try it, come on down, get in a boat, and see how you fare. Email me with any questions.
